from a fellow blogger...

i found this amazing quote from an amazing author on this blog - check it out - it's super cute! (the blog, not the quote - the blog is powerful, and true; the blog is cute! not that the blog isn't true... haha!) just read the quote and visit superchikk!

"How can it be a large career to tell other people's children about (arithmetic), and a small career to tell one's own children about the universe? How can it be broad to be the same thing to everyone, and narrow to be everything to someone? No; a woman's function is laborious because it is gigantic, not because it is minute."- G.K. Chesterton

Thanks for the kind comments and the shout-out. I'd love to have you as a regular around my place! I have to give my Mom credit for finding that quote and sending it to me.

And I wish we were closer to you - I'd love for you to take some photos for us!

That is a great quote! Our culture does a terrible job of underestimating the importance of mothers (and fathers for that matter). May we never forget that raising our children is the most important job we'll ever have!

I love your blog. Your pics are beautiful! I checked out your photography blog too. I'm with Superchikk, I wish you were nearby!

Thanks for visiting my neck of the woods today. Now I am off to visit the blog from which that wonderful quote came!

I agree. But, I wouldn't say so much that most of society thinks that classroom teachers have large careers!! That is nice, but I don't know if I have every heard that before. I give credit to ALL teachers, even those in "regular schools". With that being said, I love being my kids teacher. Wouldn't trade it for the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
